How to work around FIDO PIN management issue on Windows 11 24H2

Jul 31st, 2025

Users on Windows 11 version 24H2, specifically after installing the July 2025 Cumulative Update (KB5062553), are encountering an issue where they cannot set or change the PIN for their FEITIAN FIDO security keys and all other vendors’ security keys via Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Security Key.

This problem affects both personal and enterprise users who rely on all kinds of security keys for authentication. Attempting to manage the PIN through Windows settings results in the PIN setup window disappearing after prompting for the security key.

We have now contacted and reported this issue with Microsoft and hope they will solve this problem soon.

Workarounds:

1.Users are still able to manage your FEITIAN FIDO security keys using our SK Manager, including the PIN management. On Mac OS, or Linux, users are also able to manage our FIDO security key through Chrome browser: Chrome Settings” => “Privacy and security” => “Manage security keys.

2.Uninstall the update (KB5062553), the reported issue does not appear on earlier Windows versions. Command: wusa /uninstall /kb:5062553.
